Features of Transducer
There are many types of Buzzers in the world. But we can divide all of them into two types. Buzzer with drive circuit built-in type and buzzer with external drive type which is also called a transducer.
The working principle of the transducer is that square wave signal input to resonant device converted to sound signal output. The transducer is a buzzer without an internal oscillation source and an integrated structure of electronic sounders, in the circuit of the graphic symbol bit H or HA.
The transducer uses the principle of the piezoelectric effect to make a sound. Piezoelectric materials, generally common, are various piezoelectric ceramics.
The special feature of this material is that when a voltage is applied to the piezoelectric material, mechanical deformation is produced with changes in voltage and frequency. On the other hand, when the piezoelectric ceramic is vibrated, an electrical charge is generated. That is, this material can convert mechanical deformation and electric charge into each other. The vibrating piece inside a piezoelectric buzzer is a piezoelectric ceramic.
As mentioned above, to make it vibrate, in addition to the piezoelectric ceramic itself, a voltage of appropriate size and frequency variation is required to act on the piezoelectric ceramic. The piezoelectric (active) buzzer has an internal multi-harmonic oscillator that generates a voltage signal of 1.5-2.5kHZ. This allows the piezoelectric buzzer to produce sound.
Transducers work on the same principle as loudspeakers. A diode should be connected in parallel with a square wave signal source to prevent the high voltage reverse potential from breaking down other components.
The active buzzer is often more expensive than the transducer because of the multiple oscillation circuit inside. Just access to the rated voltage of DC can be issued by the specified frequency of sound. The frequency is determined by the internal oscillation circuit, can not be changed.
On the contrary, the sound frequency of the transducer can be controlled to make the effect of “Doremi hair solace”. So customization is a big advantage of transducers in applications.
The transducer can be customized according to the customer’s requirements. Which gives a variety of different choices in product design.
